Hi, I'm Amanda! I'm from Wisconsin in the United States. I live about 2 hours from Chicago and 30 minutes from Milwaukee.

I went to college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and I double majored in Business [Management and Human Resources] and French. I studied abroad in Paris for a semester in 2014, where I studied at ESCP Europe. I graduated with my degree from UW-Madison in May of 2016. After graduating, I took on a job as an English teaching assistant in France through TAPIF [Teaching Assistant Program in France]. I was placed in a very small town called Bressuire, in the Poitou Charentes region in France. I lived here for about 9 months, and although it was a very small town, I had the best experience. After living in France, I returned home to the US, where I worked for the past year and a half. Work was work, but my dream was to return to France. So I applied to teach again in France and was accepted! This time I was placed in the city of Nantes. It's the 6th biggest city in France, so I was happy to finally be in a city! So here I am, living out my dream again in France and traveling when I can!

So, here I am, currently working in France as an English teaching assistant. I live in a very small town called Bressuire, in the Poitou Charentes region!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I came to France to teach English because I love the language and the culture. I would love to see as much of France as possible [and more of Europe!] but with a limited income it's difficult to travel as much as I would like.

Interests

Traveling is my favorite thing to do! I also love photography. I enjoy going out to have a good time with my friends and watching my (American) football team play on Sundays!
