ABOUT ME

My name is Amanda Eriksson, 24 years old from Bålsta, Sweden. I love to travel and I've spent more than 3 (out of my 24) years outside of Sweden. Ive now been to all continents (except for the north and south pole) Ive visited about 35 different countries (and some countries Ive visited several times).

Some of the longer trips I've made is a 4 month backpacking trip to southeast asia, worked as a volunteer for three weeks in Himachal Pradesh, India, spent one year as an exchange student in Pennsylvania, USA 2008-2009, went on a one month language trip to Torquay, England a d went backpacking for 6 months (by myself) in north-/central- and south america. I left Sweden by myself but I never spent one day alone. Traveling by myself was the best decision I could ever have made. I met/traveled with so many amazing people I probably wouldnt have met if I went there with a friend. After that trip I went to Australia for 6 weeks, mostly visiting people Ive met during my travels.

I love sports, my favorite sport is basketball and dancing (if that counts). Im a happy, open-mined person that loves to try/learn new things. I love languages and learning about different cultures. I picked up a lot of spanish during my trip to cental- and southamerica and will hopefully study to become fluent (which Im not at the moment).

I'm now (June 2014) in Valencia, Spain for 4 weeks to study Spanish. Valencia is absolutely amazing and I love it here. Too bad my Spanish isn't as great as I'd want it to be. Still have another two weeks left ands hopefully it will improve during that time.

I've never tried couchsurfing before but I've heard great things about it. I've been traveling alot but I havent had the time to use couchsurfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The whole of Colombia was amazing. Got my advanced diver's license in the beautiful little town Taganga in the north, went mudbathing in a mudvolcano in Cartahena, Partied in Medellin, hiked went to coffeefarms and went horseback riding in the amazing mountains in Salento, hiked through and went to a "star"observatory in the desert in desierto de tatacoa, went horsebackriding again in San Agustin, walked around the nice city of Popayan and looked at the coolest chruch I've seen in Las Lajas.
