ABOUT ME

I'm Amanda, a 25-year-old girl, half-French half-Spanish, born in Nicaragua but raised in France, currently living in Montréal. I'm a translator (just finished my master's degree) from English and Spanish into French, mostly working as a freelance, which gives me plenty of opportunities to travel around! I love discovering new places, especially new cities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Many of my friends tried and loved it, but I only had one occasion to use it myself so far, and it was great!
I travel a lot around the world, but it's most of the time to go see someone I know, a friend or a family member. I'm lucky that a lot of people I know go live abroad :) But I don't have that many friends, and there are many cities I wish to visit. So I thought that CS could be a way of solving this problem and meeting locals!

音乐、电影和书籍

That could take a while... Reading novels and going to the cinema are certainly 2 of my favourite activities! I have to add watching TV series (my favourites at the moment: Mad Men, The Good Wife, GoT, True Detective, Brooklyn 9-9, Community, The big bang theory,...)

I've studied French classic literature and I love Flaubert and Stendhal! Lately I've been trying to diversify and read contemporary French authors like Gaudé or Ferrari.
I also read a lot in English, Spanish and Catalan.

As for movies, I can watch and love anything... as long as it's not dubbed!

Maybe it won't sound so amazing to most people but I translated a whole book and there's my name on the cover, yay!
