Über mich

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to live my life in the way I want live it. I'm on a journey to explore all of the places in the world and hear as many stories from as many people as possible.

ABOUT ME

How would I describe myself?! To put myself into a few concise words I think I'll start with I very much resonate with my astrological sign, Sagitarius. I'm a ball of energy who likes to be on the move! Whether that be physically or mentally, I am always ready for a new adventure. I tend to think a lot about a lot of things pertaining to the world, the people in it and how I interact with these things. I recently graduated from UMass Amherst with a Cultural Anthropology degree, so meeting new people from every place on the globe is something I not only enjoy, but live for. I currently work with a community of people dedicated to social justice and problem-posing education. I tend to describe what I do as, "creating spaces where people learn from themselves and those in the room with them." My favorite color is yellow. I love turtles, cheese and am usually down to do almost anything that means stepping foot into something new, exciting and an opportunity to learn more about myself, others and the world around me.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a thinker. I think, analyze and learn from almost anything and everything that comes my way. I believe that people have the utmost potential to do whatever they want to do and I will not let them stop short of that. As part of my job, but also in the way I live my life, I tend to fall into deep conversations in which both parties question and learn from themselves, others and the world around them. I believe that once you stop learning, growing and transforming as a person, you are essentially dead. So, to keep myself alive, I seek others who share this philosophy and listen, learn and connect with them. Human beings are amazing and we all play an integral part to a much, much larger whole.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to partake in having an actual couchsurfing experience. However, the idea is one of my favorite and I am excited to participate in an activity that brings people together!

Interessen

In my free time I spend as much time as I can with friends I like to call family. We frequent our local breakfast place, among the many other food establishments in the area, head up to the tops of the surrounding mountains, get some exercise in with bike rides and enjoy spending time together conversing about anything and everything. I also love to dance, I spent most of my life enthralled in the art. I also spend time reading and writing. I love listening to people play live music. I'm a person who loves the exchange of ideas and stories. I'll always be down to talk about experiences, thoughts and all of the "deep stuff" this life offers us.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I'm a fan of singer-song writer type of music. I love when musicians are able to connect the experiences they've been through with words that others can easily resonate with. It's what makes me feel part of something!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

One of the most amazing things I've ever done was decide to pack up and go to India for a couple of weeks in 2011. Bearing witness to a culture so different from my own opened my eyes and affirmed my desire for a different way of living. The organized chaos I saw in the streets of Kolkata, the different religions being honored in the hills of Darjeeling and the dedication of the people in the Buddhist Monastaries illustrated a passion for community, life and hope that I am always hungry for.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

A CouchSurfing University is an incredible idea. I suppose what I can share are the skills to engage in critical thought in how one interacts with themselves, others and the world. This is something I am deeply passionate about and bring to all my relationships. I am eager to learn everything that is thrown at me. In a serious way, if I haven't said it enough, there is something to learn from everything.
