About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to travel and have fun, eating my way around South America

ABOUT ME

I decided to relocate to South America for a while after reading too much Borges and drinking too much Malbec. I am not particularly sure where I want to end up but I am currently navigating around Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil in the search for the definitive asado. During this time I am always looking for a fun way to meet people and if you could spare a couch or a bit of floor space I would be very grateful and cook you a lovely dinner... I am pretty easy-going and adventurous but still enjoy good conversation and wine!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have really enjoyed couchsurfing in South America so far meeting some great people and families along the way. I hope that all the positive experiences continue and that I may host some people in the future.

Interests

Travel, culture, food, new situations, the arts - a little bit of everything really. It would be easier to say I don't like celery. Although I am willing to keep trying it until I do.

Music, Movies, and Books

Where do I start? I studied World Literature at University so to name my favourite books would dominate the page but to namedrop a few I guess: Borges, Garcia Marquez, Kafka and occassionally the odd trashy thriller. Movies would take a Spanish/fantasy theme: most films by Almodovar, Guillermo del Toro, Tim Burton, and Julio Medem. Music: anything good, blues, jazz, 'world', folk, just so long as it doesn't involve reggeaton!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Judged the Great Hampshire Sausage Competition 2009

Teach, Learn, Share

I am pretty good at backgammon, if I do say so myself, so I might be able to teach you trick or two.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Morocco, Poland, Spain, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay
