Overview
About Me
I am not as I seem. Nor am I otherwise.
That said, I am undeniably a Geordie lass.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
At the minute I have roomies who aren't down to host but I think CouchSurfing is a lovely idea and I will have a go at meeting people, helping them enjoy my beautiful city and spreading some international love around as best I can.
Interests
talking about the big picture, planning. I read a lot and find pretty much every topic interesting. My favourite way to learn is through conversation so if you like to chat we'd probably get along.
I like riding my bike, yoga, swimming and dancing to help balance out all the mental energy usage this PhD demands. I'm also a big fan of writing ditties on one of the many instruments I owe but can't master.
Music, Movies, and Books
This is difficult as I try to get to the flicks a couple times a week. That said the 1940s are my faves, especially noir.
Music - tricky one this. Its in no way representative but this very minute I am listening to Nico's Chelsea Girl. Record store day added Hot Rats, Unconditionally Guaranteed and Shadows and Light to the pile but before that Ty Segal and Ella Fitzgerald were dominating the vinyl front.
I like poetry and short stories as they appeal to my limited attention span. Into my dharma books too (I practice Jodo Shinshu Buddhism).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jumped off a cliff into Red Dog Gorge, Dampier, WA just after a cyclone. I thought I was dreaming, I was so happy.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm pretty clued up on esoteric knowledge as it happens.
