About Me
Hi, I'm a 28 year old on an adventure. I want to make new friends, see some new things, and keep my heart and mind as open as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am really too old for the hostel scene - I want to meet people who are actually from this country. I love new friends and new experiences, and I think the best way to see a place is through the eyes of someone who lives there.
Interests
Travelling, books, histories, overwrought indie films, sustainable living, local food, and small-scale agriculture. Good coffee, board games, push-bikes.
I am not into huge parties, but I like a social drink - be it coffee, beer, or just iced tea.
Music, Movies, and Books
Every new book is my favourite. I am currently reading Gone Girl (I know! But I haven't seen the movie) and just finished The Incredible Lightness of Being. I'm always reading something, it just might not be very intelligent.
I'm bad at favourite songs, I just replay one or two until I can't stand them. But I won't do this at your house, I promise :)
More seriously, I'm liking the indie folk/fiddle thing that is floating around these days.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Pack up my life and head around the world. Which, although it doesn't sound so amazing, is a big deal for someone who thought their life plan was set and sorted.
I've also written an MA thesis and hit a brown snake with a shovel, but now I'm just bragging.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to learn:
-real barista skills - I have experience but coffee isn't very good in Canada
-bike repair skills
-gardening skills
I can edit documents and reports, clean, bake . . ..
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am more than willing to be a functional member of a household :) I can cook, I can clean, I can garden, whatever.
I have some funny stories about Canada and grad school and I'm more than willing to help you with your work/university project/ paper etc. I'm also told I'm a great movie partner, but I am not sure how true that is.
