Overview
About Me
I'm a fairly mild person who enjoys all kinds of people. I don't smoke or have any other particularly bad habits. I'm an English teacher taking a break from living abroad to be close to home now, and I currently teach Chinese kids online. I love combining the two passions of teaching and learning about other cultures, so I'd love to share what I know in exchange for what you know!
Things I've done and would do again: snowboarding, swimming, snorkeling, zip-lining, bowling, hiking, woofing, swing dancing (any dancing!), ATV driving, volleyball, couchsurfing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I enjoy traveling and sharing new experiences. I used to live in Jeju, South Korea, but now I'm back in Massachusetts to be close to family. I'm up for meeting people but I can't host at this time.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC:
All sorts! My favorite categories are indie, folk, classic rock and swing (electric and big band), but I also enjoy local music or whatever someone wants to share with me.
Movies:
Movies that make you think. Sci-fi or psychological thrillers, especially.
Books:
I used to read mainly fiction and poetry, but I've tried to broaden that recently. Some of my top books: Kristin Lavransdatter, Lord of the Rings, After Virtue, Eating Animals, 1984...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the middle of the night in Assisi, some friends and I climbed out of a window of a hotel we were staying in while studying abroad. We had to climb out the window because our RAs were camping out in the lobby making sure no one snuck out. We had to shimmy over to a wall and jump down into the street. Then we hiked up to this famous fort (Rocca Maggiore) and climbed up the wall to this hole that someone else had told us about. One by one we crawled in. As we explored the fort, I wandered off by myself. I didn't have a flashlight but I was using my camera light to poke about. I found this doorway and walked through it into a long sort of tunnel. As I kept walking down it, alone, I felt like I was in one of those dreams where you keep moving and don't go anywhere. Eventually I came to some stairs and when I went up them, I found myself on a lookout far from the main fort. I hurried back to tell me friends, and then led them all along the tunnel. When we were all seated up there, we told our scariest stories until the sun came up and we had to leave before we got caught.
