About Me

ABOUT ME

I love to travel, am very adventurous and independent. Love experiencing new things and challenging myself. If I feel too comfortable, I try to find ways to get uncomfortable. I'm almost always working on 5 projects at once. I'm pretty blunt with out tooooo much filter. I love to talk and get to know people, but also like operating on my own schedule and spend a lot of time getting to know myself. I love to go to concerts and festivals and rage my face off. At the same time I find retreats to be liberating.
I hold a BFA in Acting from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and grew up performing in a number of musicals (60+ productions!).
While in college I booked/promoted a lot of rock concerts and sang back up in a band. I also went vegan and have become quite the chef in that arena.
I moved to LA to pursue film acting, however, since moving out here, I've found myself becoming more and more involved in philanthropy and have helped start 2 nonprofits (Selfless LA and Life Line Booth). I have also found myself doing a lot of event coordination, for those organizations and also Creative Migration.
From that, my goals have shifted to working behind the camera to tell my own story. In doing so I found myself working as an art director.
Currently, I'm in pre-production for a feature and trying to gather together a research team to help me out, editing another short documentary and shooting a second feature film in Upstate NY.
My bread and butter has had a wide range, at the moment it's this: art direction, videography, photography (specifically, events and head shots), PA work, hair modeling, figure modeling and promo modeling.
I'm bicoastal between Brooklyn and Los Angeles.

I'm also afraid of heights. I went zip-lining in Catalina Island and cried - a good cry though. So someone get me to skydive already!

PHILOSOPHY

Risk. Fail. Risk again.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch-crashed for a month in Los Angeles so I could save the money I would have spent on rent to buy a camera. Now I make a living as a photographer.

I've been traveling non-stop since January from festival to festival. About to head to my sixth festival this year: Jazz Fest.
I was either provided housing or stayed in a tent or hostel for all but SXSW, where I crashed with a house of burners I was working with and then stayed with a painter in Austin I met at a party at SXSW for the week after the festival while I waited to hear back from my potential gig in Baton Rouge.

Any time I've been to NYC or Philly for a week or less I've crashed with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mumblecore and documentaries.
Wild at Heart, Amelie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Indiana Jones (ALL of them)

Anything indie and house. I love a good tribal beat and need to get down at least once a week to feel balanced. Always looking for new music to be obsessed with.
Currently listening to the Lightning in a Bottle 2014 playlist on repeat.

Scripts and non-fiction. How-to books, poetry and philosophy books are my shit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked through Costa Rica with my camera, went to the Panama border, was turned away because my passport was going to expire within 9- days and suddenly found myself speaking Spanish to get myself back to Uvita.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can totally share my knowledge of the wide scope of "scene" that LA and NYC have to offer. I have this talent of collecting friends that come from every area of every scene in the cities that I live in and host dinner parties for the purpose of bringing them together so they can meet each other and eat delicious gourmet vegan food (that I cook).

What I Can Share with Hosts

My photography skills, fantastic at making breakfast, and a good hearty appetite for adventure.
