Music, Movies, and Books

Music: classical, rock (progressive, post, indie, alternative and so on), heavy metal (and its variations, from sludge to symphonic), trip hop, blues, jazz, and other beautiful sounds I can't put a label on.

My favorite artists are Anathema, Anohni, Pink Floyd,The Cure, Tom Waits, Anneke van Giersbergen, Zeppelin, Yann Tiersen, Steven Wilson, Pain of Salvation, Jeff Buckley, Nina Simone. I could talk all day about it. :)

I'm a cinephile, so it's hard to name favorite movies, but here are some:
- Tōkyō Monogatari (Yasujirô Ozu);
- Persona (Ingmar Bergman);
- The Double Life of Véronique (Krzysztof Kieślowski);
- Der Himmel über Berlin (Wim Wenders);
- Les quatre cents coups (François Truffaut).

I really enjoy the work of some directors such as Paul Thomas Anderson, Kieślowski, Ozu, Fellini, Godard, Wong Kar Wai, Bergman, Kim Ki Duk, Linklater, Wes Anderson, Woody Allen, Lukas Moodyson, Truffaut, Thomas Vinterberg, Refn, Dennis Villeneuve, Koreeda, Fassbinder, Coen bros., Malick, Dardenne bros.

Books: Fernando Pessoa, Ask the Dust (John Fante), Neil Gaiman, The Crying of Lot 49 (Thomas Pynchon), Tolkien, Clarice Lispector, Dickens, Maus, 1984 (Orwell), Bartleby the Scrivener (Melville).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teaching and working on a non governmental organization, in which I worked with dental assistance to children in need.

Teach, Learn, Share
