About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want get a lot of traveling done and meet as many new people as possible

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty outgoing and easy to amuse. I'd say I'm pretty easy to get along with and love to make new friends. I love to be spontaneous, like deciding to move to Australia with a 2 months notice. I can be quiet at first, but once I'm comfortable I start making unattractive faces at you and telling bad dad jokes. I originally came to Australia to study marine biology but didn't have the money. I plan on finishing uni at home eventually, but now that I've had a taste of living abroad I don't plan on doing that any time too soon.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that I will never know everything, so there will always be new things for me to experience or learn. The one thing that living abroad has taught me over and over again: the less I plan, the more likely things are going to work out, and maybe in a better way. I can't and try not to plan my life too far in the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I only started using couchsurfing after I left home so I haven't been able to do any hosting myself. Although I have made some awesome friends on here, through hosts or hanging out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I once meant to couchsurf at a guy's place for two weeks but ended up moving into a room and living with him and another housemate for 5 months. He's an amazing friend (I can't even write his reference, it'd be too long) and that has been my favourite time in Australia. I've also made some lifelong friends through this site, not all of them having hosted me.

Interests

I like being outdoors, mostly hiking. I'm not the biggest risk taker when it comes to heights but otherwise I'm for it. I like going out with good company, reading, watching TED talks, and conversation in general. I also went scuba diving for the first time in Cairns a few weeks ago and I decided I want to spend the rest of my life underwater. That was the most amazing experience for me!
And spicy food! O hmy god I'll eat anything spicy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch a ton of movies but still enjoy them. Emperor's New Groove is by far my favourite, Fight Club being a close second (polar opposites, I know).
I love to read and I have a list going, but I don't do it nearly enough. I love the books that make me think, so anything by Kurt Vonnegut or Chuck Palahiuk are good options.
I like almost every genre of music I've ever heard but right now I'm in an indie and electronic phase. At the moment I'm obsessed with a band from the UK called Glass Animals, they give me the chills.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most awestruck I've ever been was when I finished hiking to the top of Yosemite Falls, which is the fifth highest waterfall in the world. And scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef! My ultimate goal that I'll be forever working towards is to improve my diving and earn more certificates.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach...ahh I don't know. I taught my friend how to make guacamole the other day and he was a fan!
I'm willing to learn anything, but I'm determined to know more than one language in the next couple years.
Sharing stories is the greatest/easiest. I love to hear about places I've yet to go to or about the things people have done that I wouldn't have the nerve to (like skydiving).
