ABOUT ME

Mi amigos would say that I can be a bit of a wild card. I love to sit and people watch, or have have a long chat about Vietnamese culture over Vang Da Lat, but I also love a good electronic music festival and skydiving.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just had my first (semi) Couchsurfing experience! I met a surfer at the local farmers' market in town who wasn't able to stay with the host she had planned on. As I recently joined Couchsurfing, I figured I might as well offer up my couch. She was the sweetest chica! We went out for brunch in the am at a new restaurant in town before parting ways...such a delight.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Just recently, I was staying at a homestay in Da Lat. I was ill with food poisoning throughout the duration of my stay, but it couldn't have been a more perfect spot to be sick. At one point, I was resting in my room, when the grandmother stopped by to close a curtain. She saw that I was feeling sick and promptly came back with a bottle of eucalyptus oil and a spoon. She proceeded to massage my belly in the most loving but very hard-at-work sort of way. The spoon? She explained (in Vietnamese, later translated) that I had too much wind in my body, so she applied the eating utensil in an outward direction to remove the natural element. How awful to be ill, but how lovely to have a mum take care of me. I'm slowly discovering that it truly is the people who make everything worthwhile. My favorite part? Turns out her name means "pink" in Vietnamese.
