I'm Amanda. I live in Hutchinson, Kansas with my husband and son. I work from home as a daycare provider and mommy. We are vegetarians and environmentally friendly. I'm a "crunchy" mom who values breastfeeding, baby wearing, cloth diapering, etc. I don't like to waste things. I reuse and recycle when I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love to travel, but we don't often have the resources to do so. We have hosted five foreign exchange students and really enjoyed the experience. I enjoy getting to know people from other cultures and backgrounds.

Interests

I love to cook and try new recipes. My husband and I are swing dancers and square dancers. I enjoy being outdoors, playing with my son and dog, and relaxing with my husband. If you want me to host you, mention my favorite food, cheese.

I like music from the 1960s and 70s. I enjoy all kinds of movies as long as they aren't vulgar. My favorite books are mysteries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had an unmedicated birth at a birth center independent of a hospital. It was the most incredible experience. I felt like superwoman!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to learn about other cultures and just spend time with people. My day to day life is pretty isolating.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my food. If I can get a Meat eating German to turn vegetarian for an entire school year, I can hopefully convince fellow couch surfers to go meatless for a day or two! I can share toddler cuddles and puppy snuggles if you can handle the adorableness (that's probably not a word). My husband and I can teach you to swing dance, also!
