About Me

We're a young couple who just finished studying and who wants to take a year off to travel, discover new countries and people.
Amandine is 26 and studied psychology, and I (Jean) am 24 and studied human resources management.
We both were scouts here in Belgium and were invested in student associations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We think it's a great way to meet people and to visit new places from a different point of view. We can also share some good memories or experiences with you or make news ones :-)

Interests

I'm mostly interested in books (sci-fi and classics), video games (Bioshock is my favorite one) and in music (a lot of hip-hop as a teen, now it's folk, blues and jazz mostly).
Amandine is a huge reader, was really invested in the defense of students and watches even more football than me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't know exactly for Amandine. The only thing I know about is that she loves Ed Sheeran and his music.

If I had to choose a few of each, my favorite books would be east of Eden by Steinbeck and the three firtst books of Dune (Herbert), my favorite movie Dracula (with Bela Lugosi) and my favorite CDs are Winter in America by Gil Scott-heron, Shallow grave by the Tallest Man on Earth, Hospice by the Antlers and high violet by the National, but it's just a short list...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'd say writing my thesis in a short month while working a lot to save money, and producing something that was really good. Amandine recently did a speech in front of 500 people including the rector of our university, but she's almost always amazing.

One amazing thing that we are doing : this adventure ! You can take a look at our website if you want www.aj2americas.wordpress.com

Teach, Learn, Share

We studied psychology and sociology, so we might have a few interesting things to say or to learn from other people. I can teach you how to make great ice creams as well, but also French and a bit of Dutch. I would really like to learn Portugese while we're in Brazil and Spanish while we visit Argentina, Peru and Bolivia. If there's anything we can do to help you out (gardening, repairing or buiding, or something else), we would love to learn from you and help you out. We will also have a few belgian products to give away :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

We just love to talk about stuff. We're curious about others, we like to listen to people and we also really enjoy partying. I could teach you how to juggle or how to play the guitar, and Amandine is good at fishing, tinkering, cooking and has read hundreds of books.
