Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live happily ever after with dog, fabric, and farm dreams.
ABOUT ME
Portland is where I work and play for now. After spending 4 years in Seattle, I'm in the better NW city and spending a lot of time sewing, cooking, chasing chickens, wrangling a St. Bernard, and eating apples with almond butter.
Home is me, my boyfriend, and our 130 pound dog. He loves all humans, and mostly loves other dogs (we're working on it). I enjoy dancing, tea drinking, sewing (yep, again), bike riding, yarn spinning, food canning and preservation, beer brewing, backpacking/camping, and other happy types of fun.
I've lived in various US states for short periods, out of a tent in a canyon for two summers in Utah, and seem to be settled as a city girl for now. I was raised on a farm in rural Utah where everyone knows everyone else, and I hope to keep the small town feel with me wherever I go in life; couchsurfing is one way to do this. The larger my community becomes, the smaller it feels.
My dreams keep coming true. It's awesome!
PHILOSOPHY
To experience the new, exciting, beautiful, and unknown. Life is good. Friends and family.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm available for friendship and coffee (SEWING AND FABRIC STORE TRIPS!), spreading the joy of couchsurfing, and promoting the good of humanity. There's potential that I can host, but my schedule can be hairy and you'd need to be comfortable with a big dog and staying in the outer SE end of Portland.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couch surfed across the US on a 3 week train trip, which was wildly successful, plus random overnighters. I have also hosted a number of surfers. What a hoot!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: The Wailin' Jennys, Brandi Carlile, Alela Diane, Be Good Tanyas, musician friends & live drums. Mostly anything live that calls for grooving.
Movies: I don't really watch 'em. Everyone is always shocked by my lack of knowledge.
Books: Love 'em, especially the non-fiction cooking and sewing varieties.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dancing nude in a dark canyon in the middle of the night, in the rain, on a warm summer's eve.
Wading across the frigid Snake river in an attempt to backpack up a snowy mountain in the name of research.
Adopted a huge dog that spent the first half of his life on a chain.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am glad to teach domestic arts such as cooking, knitting, spinning, and basic sewing. I could teach someone to drive tractors or herd cattle. Also, I'm an expert camp fire starter!
Can you share your farm travel experiences with me? Stories of long-term cycling? I'm love hearing stories... and improving my Spanish.
