About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discovering my true colours :)

ABOUT ME

I am an open-minded, curious and passionate person who is willing to discover the world to find my true calling.. Right now I'm very much into Pacific and Indonesian Women's Literature as I am planning to write my PhD on the topic and could talk about it for hours, I love all kinds of art (literature, film, poetry, paintings..) and meeting interesting people while working for a radio station (www.radiot.de) and in my parents tea shop here in Chemnitz. So... why dont you come by and have a sip of green tea with me?! :)

PHILOSOPHY

Art makes all suffering bearable. It has always helped me at least.

Music, Movies, and Books

MOVIES: Spanish, Mexican, American, French independent films, can't name all of them; but I do love Almodóvar, Bigas Luna, Medem, and the film FRIDA. An all time fave is DEAD MAN with Johnny Depp. As well as BABEL. After spending a year in Asia, I do recommend THREE SEASONS as a must-see for everyone who wants to delve in the mysteries of Asian culture (which is of course as complex as it is)

MUSIC: All kinds of it. I grew up with the Rock'n'Roll of the Seventies (Pink Floyd, The Doors etc.) and went through a short Hip Hop, a quite long Punk/Hippie Phase and am now open to all kinds, also electronic music :) I also enjoy African music, Zouk, and basically everything that makes me bounce (113 and Magic system and during my Erasms in the South of France I got into Algerian Rai as well - ahh, très cool)!

BOOKS: I love books. Poetry, novels, by Anais Nin, Gioconda Belli, Siri Hustvedt, Kiana Davenport, Célestine Hitiura Vaite and Elizabeth Gilbert - to name a few. As a child I read all kinds of german fantasy novels by Michael Ende and Wolfgang Hohlbein. I can highly recommend reading MOMO by Ende - the English translation is fantastic!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumping from a 8 m rock in Malta - Sunset over the Zambezi River in Zambia, spending one year in Bali as a school coordinator - most impressive time of my life.
