CURRENT MISSION

Just arrived in Australia on April 2nd with a working holiday visa for 1 year. My mission is to work and travel as often as I can in this big and beautiful country ! I wanna make the most of it and experience the Australian way of life ! :-)

ABOUT ME

Hey ! :) My name is Amandine but I go by Amy when I'm travelling (muuuuuch easier isn't it? :D). I'm a 28 years old girl from Belgium.

I like music, sports, partying and travelling (of course!). I enjoy meeting people from other countries and discovering other cultures. I like to share and learn from them. I truly believe in the quote that says "Travel is the only think you buy that makes you richer"...

It's hard to say by myself but I think I'm a quite open-minded, easy-going, positive and fun person who has a lust for life. I always enjoy a new experience/adventure and I'm curious about everything!

I already lived in Canada 2 times. First was in Ottawa for 5 months as an exchange student. Second time I I lived and worked in Calgary for a year from August 2013 to August 2014. I'm now about to live one year in Australia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I subscribe on couchsurfing after a good first experience in Washington in January 2012. For the moment that is my only couchsurfing experience !

When I travel I usually go visiting friends I met in Canada so usually I don't need CS or I'm on vacation with lots of friends so it's also complicated.

Now as it's just me ans my backpacks, I can't wait to have many other great CS experiences and meet tons of fun and intersting people ! :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is a part of my life. I'm a BIG fan of the Rolling Stones and classic rock (Dire Straits, Queen, The who, Pink Floyd,...). I also love Heavy metal, espacially the one with big hairs and spandex from the 80's like Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Poison, Guns'n Roses,... But I also really like some of today's metal and hard rock (but not the really hard ones) like Parkway Drive, Airbourne, Alterbridge, Volbeat, Steel Panther...

Actually I just love music ! Those are my favorites but I also like some old french songs, today's hit, ...

I always like a good movie, regardless to the genre even if I have a slight preference for Romance and Comedy. I'm also a TV show addict (OK maybe I exaggerate a little here ;) ) Since I was a teen I watched a lot of them from The OC to True Blood through Shameless to Sense8 or The Leftovers and many others...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen a lot of things but filling this there's 3 popping up in my mind: Taking care of an elephant in a small family farm in Thailand, watching the whales in Tadoussac and snorkeling and swimming with dolphins in Cuba !

Teach, Learn, Share

I know about artistic Gymnastics. I'm a former gymnast, a coach and also a judge during competitions in my country.

I could teach french as I'm a french speaker :-)

I'm always eager to learn new things but I've always wanted to learn surf. It's kind of one of my dreams since I'm a teenage girl ! As I just landed in the land of surf, I'll definitely make it happen ! :-)
