About Me
Hi there, I am a part-time lecturer at the University of Hamburg where I teach social and cultural anthropology and work on my doctoral studies at the side!
Long walks, and reading poetry and other books (mostly anthropology and philosophy) take up much of my time.
Mostly glad to observe people and things around me and once in a while have the chance to speak to my heart's content about it with a friend or sometimes with strangers as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To have conversations, laughs, walks...
Music, Movies, and Books
Music is the closest that I have come to spirituality! (Mendelssohn’s Violin concertos, some compositions of Bach, Qawallis)
I hoard books and read some of them! Some of the authors whom I have read and really liked are Rilke, Nietzsche, Thomas Mann, Hermann Hesse, Audrey Lorde, bell hooks, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Stefan Zweig, Camus, Kafka, Orwell, Fanon and some others! These days I’m interested in reading Sara Ahmed’s books and some Buddhist literature.
I really like movies as well. Some movies that I have enjoyed watching are, A Special day (Una giornata particolare), The wind will carry us, Where is the friend's home, Fandry, Winter Sleep...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Made a kid laugh uncontrollably!
