About Me

Whether I like it or not, I've accepted that I am definitely an all-or-nothing person (at least for the important things). If I can't be passionate about something, then I don't think I should be expending precious energy on it.
Because of this, I can talk to someone about anything as long as s/he is passionate about it. I've probably learned more from these conversations than I have in the classroom.

I am 4 months shy of a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering.
I like words a lot, but I feel like I'll always be confused about what classifies as "poetry."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It seems like I always want to be somewhere else, and this urge has only intensified over time. As a working college student, I'd rather use my money towards gas to take me on adventures than on a muted-beige hotel room that smells like cheap air freshener.

Having said that, my mom taught me never to show up empty-handed and to leave places as I found them.

Interests

drinking tea, petting/hugging animals, watching TED Talks and trying to conceal brimming tears, systematically dismantling the patriarchy, making to-do lists and imagining the alternate universe in which I actually complete my to-do list

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't know how to describe my music taste aside from "not the Top 40." My favorite bands are Relient K and Blink-182. I also like Spin Doctors, The Black Keys, and the like. But I have a total weakness for throwbacks by Avril Lavigne and Hilary Duff, so...
I'm a huge fan of pretty much anything Joss Whedon. And, of course, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. I prefer Marvel over DC.
My favorite work of fiction is John Steinbeck's East of Eden.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I played the piano at Carnegie Hall when I was 11 or 12 (and everything else has been pretty lackluster in comparison since then).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a good listener and I'm good at being candid. We can also sing together, because it's fun.

Oh, and if we make plans in advance enough, I can 3D print you something and bring it for you, because I work at a Makerspace.
