About Me
I think most of my friends will say I'm crazy, openminded, joyful and social. I love arts and I love to be creative in every way. When I travel I really like to dive into the history about the place and visit some museums. You can have a good laugh with me, and when hanging with me anything can happen. I like to make new friends and when you take me to a party, big chance you won't see me the whole evening because I'll be chatting to random strangers to hear some good stories.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think couchsurfing is a great way to meet new people, travel and really experience the city by staying with and being shown around by a local. I started couchsurfing in Malaysia and really liked it. We have our own appartment now, so now we have the chance to invite people to our place. It's such a nice way to meet people from all over the world and now being able to return the favor. Or.. get invited by guests to their place!
Interests
Well, on top of the list: travelling. Together with my boyfriend we travelled through Europa and Southeast Asia. We explored Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia by motorbike. We did a similar thing in the east of Europe by car. We really like not to plan things in forehead and just see where the car takes us. We're in for a suprise!
I love arts; I like making 'm and I like visiting museums. I'm always in for Art History and when walking around down town I always try to figure out what the styles are in which a building was built.
Parties! Such a great way to meet awesome people, hear good stories, and have a laugh. Or dance :) Not that I'm good at it, but I love to jump around and get hyped up by the music.
Music, Movies, and Books
I really enjoy watching movies. With unlimited cinema membership, it can happen that I end up in the cinema 3 times a week. Alone, or with friends. I just love to get sucked into movies that show you a totally different world or really touches you. So yes, I cry during movies. A lot. Some favourites are: Django Unchained, Unbroken, Fury, The imitation game, The hateful eight, Eddie the Eagle and whatsoever.
My music taste is really wide. I like rock and punkrock but I'm also really keen of drum and base, coldplay, snowpatrol, fort minor, alt j, bakermat, chase and status, bon iver etc! Me and my boyfriend Jasper are also really into deephouse, so if you come visit us, thats probably what you hear when you knock on the door. We pretty much play music all day.. we wake up with it and we go to bed with it.
When it comes to reading I really like literaire thrillers from Harlan Coben, Nicci French, Dan Brown, Stieg Larsson but also children books from Roahl Dahl. What I even like more than books, are audiobooks. I love to listen to Harry Potter when I go to bed and I have to admit that I've been doing this since I was a kid until now and I'm nearly 26.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jeez, difficult! I have done so many amazing things already! I think one of the most amazing things was exploring Vietnam by motorbike. We bought one in Ho Chi Minh and drove up to Hanoi in the north, crossing Laos and Cambodia. We met so many lovely people and saw so many beautiful things. Amazing!
Also an amazing experience was camping on a bounty island not far from Jakarta, Indonesia. I stayed over with a group of friends for the weekend. We built our own tents and slept next to the campfire.
Climbing the Rinjani vulcano on Lombok has been amazing aswell. Probably the thoughest thing I've ever done, but totally worth it. The view above the clouds.. breathtaking!
Travelling and sleeping in our little delivery car while roadtripping through Europe was amazing aswell. But also smelly, hot and messy. We had such a great time, parking in the weirdest places and exploring the countries we visited.
Teach, Learn, Share
I studied interior architecture and love arts. I paint, draw, weld, sew and experiment with techniques and new materials. After four years of studying I combined working on projects with working in a shoestore. While working here, I followed some home courses about creativity, museum teaching strategies and city planning. After a year I realized I wanted to learn more, so in 2015 I started a new bachelor: Bachelor of Education in Fine Arts and Design which I'm currently busy with. After graduation I want to move abroad with Jasper to explore the world and find a place to live and work as a teacher and maybe start my masters in Creative Therapy. We'll see what happens!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I always have good stories to share and I can share my cooking skills (although I'm not that good), and creative skills to make a nice piece of art to put on your wall!
