Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe in believing in people.
I believe the universe obligates us to lead beautiful lives.
I believe in the importance of learning to trust uncertainty - and
I believe we are beautified when we practice that with each other.
And because of that,
I couchsurf.

Having been a hitchhiker I also believe in last minute surf requests, so ask away - I've probably got chu :p

Music, Movies, and Books
This list changes far too often so I'll just list some (likely now outdated) current highlights:

I LOVE exploring new music and swaping recommendations with people. Currently digging Joni Mitchell (chronically underappreciated these days), Dirty Projectors, and ford. Math rock is the coolest uber-specific genre I know of.

My all-time favorite book is East of Eden by John Steinbeck. He's probably my favorite author. I love the way he weaves together rich stories about people, histories, and places. Currently reading GK Chesterton's Tremendous Trifles, which is full of well written and delightful short stories - as well as about 12 other books concurrently.

I'm not a huge movie person. Usually they're either boring or just make me think too much. Plus who wants to sit down for an hour and a half? Never Cry Wolf starring Charles Martin Smith though? I'll watch that any day.
My one weird recommendation though is Hanna Takes the Stairs - a low budget mumblecore film about people and relationships. I heard about it after listening to the catchy Freelance Whales song "Hannah". Honestly, it's not good (most people would say "straight up bad"), but I kinda like that.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent ~6 weeks hitchhiking a bit more than 8,000 mi throughout the (mostly western) US and Canada. I like telling the stories that happened.
Teach, Learn, Share

I've learned quite a bit about religion, Christianity in particular, and I love talking about history and philosophy of religion, spirituality, faith, and how we live life. I accept without judgement everything other people believe in and I enjoy conversations where we can see commonalities and talk about what is important to us in life.

I want to learn how to sing well. I took a voice class once in college, but I want to get better.
(s h a r e)
I believe in cooking food and sharing meals together; let's spend some time in the kitchen.
