I’m Amber! I am travelling Le world with my best bud!. (Profile says I haven’t surfed much as my travel buddy and I have shared her app so I’ve only recently made my own account!)
Our only plan for the trip was a festival in South Africa called Afrika Burn (sister to burning man) and BOOM in Portugal in July! Meeting incredible humans along the way. We started in Zanzibar/Tanzania to Malawi, Mozambique, Into South Africa, up to Namibia and Zambia! Our last stop before Europe was Kenya and for the last few months We’ve been loving the warm European weather of Portugal, Spain, France, the Netherlands and are currently seeking to meet some conscious fun people who will host us for any amount of time in The UK!
In Australia, I am a primary school teacher! I’ve broken away from the norms to explore the world, spread the love and learn some new skills by doing things like “work away” and volunteering at little hidden gems that are recommended along the way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couch surfing to meet people that I wouldn’t meet in a hostel, to save money and make some friends in a homey environment! It’s so lovely to couch surf, it’s like taking a break for a few days at home- away from home. So far we have met some lovely people who have shared their homes and culture with us which has been super fun! We love sharing our experiences and have the same enjoyment hearing yours! Happy to hang and happy to my own thing if your unavailable, im all about exploring.

Interests

Music/festivals- since the burn I have a new passion for working at them pre and post event! Rainbows, being amongst nature. Yoga, long forest walks, estatic dance, 5 rythms, the sunshine and beach swims! Hanging on the reg and reading, drinking red wine Listening to music and laughing a lot. I’ve just started learning how to do some basic macrame and I’m addicted to stones/minerals/crystals so putting them all together is a new thing I’m twerkin on.

Music, Movies, and Books

errythang!! All the beats. I like all types of dance music especially if it’s got some Multicultural sounds/vocals, hip hop, alternative louder music, (Deftones is my fave) metal, folk, reggae, classical pianist vibes and psychedelic rock. Oh also, I’ve just started learning to play the didjeridoo! I’ve got it with me so you can have a go too and even better, if you play, show me your skills! I also love percussion and anything with drums, especially a Djembe or a darraboukka and getting around a jam sesssion!! I love it!!!! ✨🙌🏾 I like sci-fi movies, docos, funny stuff- actually most genres except for “scary movies” haha! I’ll watch them through my hands if I need to! Harry Potter series, (I started reading them again on this trip) Shantaram, fiction and non fiction, the Alchemist, Big Little Lies. I also love listening to Podcasts.
