Overview
About Me
I'm about to graduate from Durham University with a Philosophy degree. I'm also vegan and lived in Spain for three years so I speak a bit of Spanish. I grew up in East London until we moved to Spain and have been in Durham for the last three years studying for my degree.
I like going for walks in nature, yoga, music (I love small gigs), ballet, reading, meeting people, having a good conversation (I think this might be my favourite thing - but then, what else is a philosophy degree good for?), I also think maths and science are really interesting and love watching youtube videos about that kind of stuff - my most recent obsession has been black holes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would like to travel all over the world and have the opportunity to immerse myself in the culture. I think meeting people from the area is a big part of that and I enjoy the company of others. I think there is a lot to be learnt from other people and I love hearing people's life stories. Couchsurfing seems like the perfect way to do all of those things. I can't currently accept guests, however, I look forward to doing so when I return to London. I think couchsurfing is a brilliant idea and I look forward to being a part of it.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love the Flaming Lips, Bob Dylan, Fat Freddie's Drop, Frank Zappa, Rodriguez and more, but I love being introduced to new music!
Favourite book is probably pride and prejudice (I've read it so many times I can recite bits of it!) and Wittgenstein's book, the Philosophical Investigations.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in a Caravan on the side of a mountain an hour walk from the nearest village with no gas or electricity and a stream for water for three months.
I also backpacked around India for a month when I was 14 with my mum and sister, but I think that is more of an amazing thing my mum did than me...
Teach, Learn, Share
I have been teaching myself to play guitar and would love to learn more. I can tell you all about the philosophy of maths and the philosophy of language - if you're interested! haha.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to cook. I am vegan so all the food I cook is vegan, but my omnivorous friends have often remarked that if I cooked for them all the time, they too would be vegan. I would be very happy to cook for, and share recipes with, hosts.
