Kia Ora! My motto for life is "Life is for living" so I better start living it. I have just quit my job and am beginning to pack up my things to see the world with my partner, Liam! He is 26 and a hard working, happy-go-lucky kiwi bloke. We are both of Maori descent and super open about our culture if anyone is interested.

I am an easy going person and super excited about meeting new people! I have grown up with an awesome, supportive family who I will be sad to leave but excited to make other little families with new people in other countries. I have been studying and working hard for years to be able to leave my life here and start something new. I am sick of the rat-race and although I love nursing and very much enjoy my job, the time has come for me to spread my wings. I consider myself someone who is friendly, caring, fun and tidy but I enjoy a good night out or day sight seeing. We love the water and enjoy swimming and water sports. I like learning about other cultures and history, which is why we have chosen to travel Europe.

We will also be visiting lots of family and friends on our travels and doing some volunteer work. I have backpacked through America when I was a teenage which I loved and learnt so much. It taught me a lot about how to travel wisely and maximize all the opportunities that come your way. I made some life long friends on that trip and hoping to meet more on this one.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet the local's of each area. I grew up in a rural surfing town so hoping to see what is out there in the world and experience things first hand. I love socialising and hearing stories of other peoples lives! I love the insight local people have about their part of the world and their interesting perspective! We have decided to pack up our lives and are hoping to taste new food, hear new music and soak up everything the world has to offer. I sounds cheesy but that is really all there is too it. We are planning to return to Australia after traveling and really knuckle down and work hard so we are looking forward to a long holiday/OE before that.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love so many types of music... old school classics, country, drum and bass, house, indi, rock, you name it! We love seeing music live and dancing the night away.
I have read so many books so I am trying to think on the spot! I like crime-thrillers and mysteries though.
We enjoy watching movies with a twist but also the classic Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter Etc. Love scarry movies or ones that make you life out loud.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories of New Zealand and indigenous Maori culture. New Zealand style cooking! Games (drinking and normal) from home we can teach! We often play Chess (Liam is pretty good) and cards. Liam loves chatting about and watching sports aswel, especially football and rugby.
