Hey, I’m Amber!

I love meeting people from all over the world which is why I keep traveling. I’m currently in San Jose, reconnecting with friends from a past trip before I continue on to Europe and Africa.

Besides traveling, I’m passionate about community development and poverty alleviation. I studied International Development in my master’s and one of the keys things I learned is how very small solutions can sometimes make the biggest lasting difference.

I’m an introvert who values deep conversations and quiet moments. Couchsurfing is my way of connecting with locals and making travel more meaningful. Looking forward to meeting fellow travelers who love exploring new cultures as much as I do!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really love the community aspect of couchsurfing. I enjoy meeting people from all different parts of the world and walks of life, finding out what we have in common and learning more about the world and ourselves as we discover where we differ. CS has given me the opportunity to meet some truly wonderful people I would have never encountered otherwise!

Interests

🐾I love animals and if you have a dog or cat I can meet that would honestly make my trip.

🧩 I enjoy board games and puzzles. My best friend owns an escape room and I love how creating new puzzles gets you to look at the world through a different lens. I also love playing new escape rooms during my travels.

🍴I’m a foodie. I always love to try something new and am always on the hunt for a new favorite restaurant.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music genre is indie pop. I love bands like AJR, Rainbow Kitten Surprise and the band Camino. I’m not too into movies but love to read. One of my favorite books is The Sun Also Rises by Hemingway.
