About Me

I am a student at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL USA. I am currently studying abroad and so I can't host anyone in that time. I am studying English while focusing on creative writing (poetry). Energetic and curious, I am willing to explore and try new things. Friendly and respectful, and I hope for the same in return.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CS is a great way to meet new people, explore the cities, and dive right in. I am new to this, but have been recommended to try it by a few friends while traveling. Especially here in Europe.

When I get back home to the States and can host again, I am willing to take someone in on as short a notice as 1 week. I am still a student and might not be around full time, but will try my best to take you around the small town and enjoy what there is during your stay.

Interests

Netflix is always an interest, haha.
In seriousness I am a writer. I write poetry and dabble in short stories. I love music (I sing in a choir and know how to play a bit of piano, guitar, and harmonica) and exploring. I am willing to try everything once to figure out what I like and don't like.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like all genres of music. My favorites are classic rock 'n' roll, classical, and alternative rock. But of course the latest pop songs get stuck in my head too. Favorite artist is Johnny Cash.
Movies: Unfortunately, I am horrible at sitting to watch movies. I never have seen the classics (The Godfather, Scarface, nothing). But I do like to watch movies with great character development and strong plots.
Books: I read too much to hold favorites. I recently finished Dracula by Bram Stoker. I read poetry, short story collections, novels, and plays with the same enthusiasm. Best playwright is probably Oscar Wilde for his humor and my favorite plays are A Streetcar Named Desire and Translations.
