Overview
About Me
I am an American from California who moved to Norway to pursue a masters degree in Environmental Studies. I grew up in a small California town, surrounded by vineyards and oak woodlands. I find the most peace in nature and around people who slow down. I can be very energized and talkative at times, but I am also mellow and reflective.
I have always been fascinated by trees…by their grandeur and their resilience, which led me towards forest ecology as a career pathway, allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of the complexity of forests and their role in solving the climate crisis. I’m fascinated by traditional knowledge and it’s use in natural resource management and I believe that a sustainable future requires a reconnection to nature that many people have lost. Science and spirituality can coexist.
I am an active person or at least feel my best when I am active. I move my body through hikes, Pilates, tennis, skiing, and I have become more interested in long distance cycling so I hope a trip will be in the near future! I was a tennis instructor in the United States and most of my adolescence was spent playing competitive tennis, but I now play as a hobby and enjoy teaching others if they are keen to learn.
