About Me

I love to travel and meet new people. Hence, why I let strangers into my home and hope they will let me into theirs lol.
Everywhere I go, I collect stories to add to my book of life. Hopefully we will meet and you get a page, maybe even a chapter!

FYI: there are a couple things I request from surfers I may host -
1) be respectful and read my whole profile
2) please leave a reference. The whole CS platform is based on meeting new people, staying in their homes or having them stay in yours, and references are one of the few means we have to ensure that we meet people who we will mesh with, as well as, and more importantly, a way to help ensure safety. It takes only a few minutes!

Anyway, back to my profile:
Open minded, adventurous and spontaneous are the best adjectives to describe me. ✌️
I try my best to be caring, considerate, empathetic, giving and kind, and I have a lot of heart. Sometimes I think I care too much, but I'd rather give too much than too little. There's already enough crap in the world. So I'm trying to be one of the individuals making it better.

Kind of funny. Sometimes 🤔😃 Hardworking and determined.

I enjoy respectful debates about all types of topics.
I am an LGBQT ally. Really, a 'pro-love whoever you darn well please' ally.
Not a fan of disrespect, bullying, hateful speech or any thing else of that nature.
Ignorance happens but education can fix that. 😉

I would say that my outlook on life is a very liberal one.
Why does how one person chooses to live their life affect you in any way?? Oh that's right - 99% of the time it doesn't. So instead of making life hard for individuals who fly their "freak" flag, be nice 😊 or if you just can't,🙄 leave them be and try to at least appreciate the individuality they add to the world!
I have strong opinions and morals I believe in but they are not necessarily the everyday common ones and I would never force them on anyone. Rule of thumb: As long as you are nice and respectful to me, I'll be the same to you. 😊
(I know I may sound salty at times, but I'm really a sweetheart 🤗 )

Life is short; just trying to live my best one!

Also, to ensure that I know you've taken the time to read through my profile, please mention my favorite color in your first message. Yup, you're gonna have to keep reading to get the answer. When you do find it, don't forget to put it in your FIRST contact with me ****

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

1) I thrive on interactions with others and I think this is an interesting way to meet like-minded people.
2) Travelling is amazing and everyone should do it. However it can be expensive. I'm not rich by any means but I have a happy stable life and I feel I've been lucky in this game called life. I choose to share my home because it costs me next to nothing to perhaps help others who are struggling more than I. However, I do need to note, please don't send a message that makes it very obvious you only want to couchsurf with me to save money. (For example, you are staying somewhere else but want to use my laundry facilities. There are laundromats for that lol) That's NOT the only premise of this platform.
3) Touristy sites are cool to see, but they're also filled with tourists.. some of who are really obnoxious ( I admit I've been that person occasionally, but I promise I'm trying to be better!). I'm much more curious to see how people live and go about their daily lives. Also, I'm always surprised when people tell me they're coming to see Winnipeg. Surprised because we're a fairly small city compared to other big Canadian ones such as Toronto, Montreal, blah blah blah (always where people guess I'm from when I am travelling) and happy because we are such a hidden gem and I'm glad you've decided to come see my city. I made a video about some things we have to offer. Check it out! https://youtu.be/41WUZog7wns
4) Hopefully whoever stays with me will cook me something delicious that I havent tried before 😁 I also like to cook and bake and I love hosting potlucks so perhaps we can have one and you can meet some of my friends :)
5) This is another avenue to gain experiences and stories for chapters in the book I've simply titled "My Life".
6) Karma baby ✌

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

... where to start 🤔
• hiked Mt Huashan
• sailed on the Great Barrier Reef
• experienced a full moon party in Thailand
• lived on a houseboat in Ha Long Bay
• got scuba diving certified
• had my 15 minutes of fame on The Bachelor 🙈 (but IS it that amazing? 🤔)
• 4x4'd and rode a camel through the Sahara (and thankfully didn't melt from the 43°c temperature 😂🔥)
• experienced the Great Wall of China
• swam in a lake up in the Swiss Alps
• partied in Ibiza
• flew a 4 seater plane in Vancouver (and did the swoop where your tummy feels 🤢🤮)
• ate balot in the Philippines (also makes your tummy feel 🤢🤮)
• I'm sure there's more but I need to start writing this shit down - too many fun experiences have killed a few brain cells lol 😣

What I Can Share with Hosts

Besides the basics - blankets, linens, towels, bathroom products, probably even clothing attire if you need -
Also travel stories and experiences, funny memories, wisdom and advice on life, travelling, growing up, relationships, French vanilla coffee with Baileys and whipped cream 😍 waffle breakfast on Sundays (but you gotta do the dishes! Or at least the silverware), a clean, calm, relaxing and most importantly, safe place to rest your head. P.s. my favorite color is purple. Don't forget. 😉 Although I'm really outgoing, I also love having my quiet time, so if I host you (or you are hosting me), don't feel obligated to spend all your time with me and also don't be offended if I ask for some space. I work M-F and have to be up early so before bed, I always require a little quality time with my main pal Net. (Netflix that is). 😉
Also, I'm not your mama. And I'm not going to clean up after you. When you're leaving on your merry way, please ask where your used towel and linens should go and I will advise. Wet used towels shouldn't be left lying around.. (This also goes both ways; if you're hosting me, I am aware of being in your space and do my best to keep the space you are lending me neat and tidy, but if there is something I shouldn't be doing/should be doing, but am not, please tell me so I can rectify it). Also, I love to vacuum, so if you need it done, I'm your girl!)
Oh.. dear men, if you're at my house, please keep the toilet seat down when you're done your deed. #womancaverules
Thanks!
