ABOUT ME

From Hawaii, USA - relatively new to CS but experienced traveler and community builder. Seeking ever-evolving ways to connect & contribute positively to the communities I am engaged with, and to discover more about this beautiful world and all its ohana (that is Hawaiian for "family").

If you are wanting to stay with me and my boyfriend, please read all of this profile, including the information about our home. There is a phrase hidden in there that we will require yo to put in your request if you want to stay with us, to be sure you have read everything. That way you know if we are a fit.

I'm a social systems entrepreneur, with experience in commercial & luxury real estate; retreat center start-up, management, & promotion; marketing & design pro; healthy lifestyle & detox consultant: off-grid utility systems operator (solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, etc). I'm also a pro musician, poet, artist & owned my own record label. I have worked with children (nanny & teacher), horses, and been an instructor for years as well.

I love the outdoors and often prefer to stay in a tent rather than in a room, and I have allergies to some indoor things like smoke and perfume and cleaners, so please don't be offended or surprised if I ask to put a tent in your yard instead of staying inside! I always come fully prepared to take care of myself with camping equipment.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a gregarious, easy-going, clean, & independent entrepreneur, passionately in love with anything natural, enjoy learning & sharing & practicing wilderness survival skills & learning about wild edibles & medicinals & local healing methods. Music is important to me, but not to listen to as much as to play & write & record songs (I'm a professional musician). I'm easy to get along with, cheerful, self-contained & happily entertained by almost anything. I do not do any drugs (at all), rarely consume alcohol, & I am very health-conscious & have a wealth of knowledge to offer others on how to maintain good health. I am mechanically inclined, a good problem solver, & I'm good at finding positive ways to contribute to the people and causes at hand in nearly every situation, & enjoy helping others.

I Couchsurfed for a while waaaaay back in the day, & now I am trying it out again! :) Can't wait to share life with new, vibrant people like YOU!

Music, Movies, and Books

I write music but rarely listen to it - but I don't mind if you do! I read a lot but I run a business and record and arrange music on my laptop, so I am grateful to spend my time off doing something active or engaging. I have to say I'm addicted to movies, tho. Almost anything (not horror, war or mean-spirited) goes!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived at a remote off-grid hot spring for years. Broke my shoulder, ribs and ankle while rock climbing in Thailand, and two weeks later I bicycled through Angkor Wat in Cambodia on crutches. Hiked Dog Mountain in Washington State barefoot in winter. Created a retreat center. Swam with Spotted Eagle Rays & dolphins. Broke my arm solo camping in a valley in HI & splinted it & healed it on my own. Went naked spelunking in ocean caves on a remote island a the end of a 12 mile precarious hiking trail. Crashed a teen heart-throb concert at a grade school outside Berlin & got asked to become part of the band. Stood on a moving lava field until my shoes started to melt. Performed music on stage at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

Certified Small Business Planner & serial entrepreneur. Graphic designer, musician, artist, web designer. Social marketing pro.Great with babies, kids (been a homeschool teacher) & animals. Horseback riding (I was a pro equine trainer for 10+ years) both riding & teaching horsemanship. Wilderness Survival teacher for kids. Detoxification & healthy lifestyle choices. What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very easygoing, respectful, simple & very self-sufficient, and I never expect to be entertained or served. I love to help around the house, am a pretty decent cook, and will likely leave your place cleaner than when I arrived. I work a little every day on my laptop, so I tend to be pretty quiet until it is time for play. I've done a lot of study in health & detox and have run detox & diet programs and organic/sustainable lifestyle knowledge. I have small business experience, marketing and design as well (I can help you whip up a website lickety-split), so if you have or want to start your own business I can offer some reflection and ideas. If you are into kicking back or having an adventure partner, or even if you need your space, I'm happy to go with the flow!
