ABOUT ME

In the last year and a half, I graduated from Northern Arizona University with my MA in TESL, taught in Tokyo, fulfilled my dream of solo backpacking SE Asia, and spent the last year teaching at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, ID. I'm ecstatic to be back in California, and would love to play tour guide around Sacramento.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love the community, and love meeting new people and hearing about their experiences, with traveling, life, and everything in between. I host whenever I can, currently in Idaho, renting a room, so I can't. :/

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted in Cali, and quite a few times in Tokyo. I love meeting people from all over the world and getting to share my experiences- it always helps make a new place a little less scary when you have a friendly face to help out.

I stayed for a night in Monterey and absolutely loved my first experience. The couple was amazing and we went out to dinner, plus got to hang out and chat!

My old roomies and I hosted our first surfer in May 2012 and had a lot of fun hearing about his life and introducing him to In 'N Out!

Intereses

I love reading, traveling, yoga, soccer, and sleeping! Music is life. I love all music- EDM, rock, Latin, country, anything with a melody and I'm golden. :)

A few things I'm proud of:
* March-June 2015- solo backpacked SE Asia (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, South Korea, then back to Japan for my stuff)
* August 2014- Moved to Tokyo to teach English- marked my "first big girl job," as well as the first time I'd lived and traveled alone
Summer 2014- Worked as a volunteer teacher in Mexico this summer for university students who had gone through the Mexican orphanage system.
* Summer 2014- Road-tripped across the US West Coast and Midwest. Drove over 5000 miles and visited 12 states in 3 weeks.
* Summer 2011- fulfilled my life dream of visiting Italy and France
* Summer 2009- first international travel to Guadalajara, Mexico as a travel liaison for a global education company

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I am an autodidact, and a teacher by nature. I love hearing the unique stories people have to tell, and love language learning.

I would love to chat with others to strengthen my language skills in Spanish or Japanese, or would love to learn any new languages you have to share.
