About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My goal is to live and learn, and have fun while I'm at it. I'm not too concerned with tourist traps, but I want to learn about new cultures, make some friends, and have a blast.
ABOUT ME
I've just finished up all of my courses for a Masters of International Relations, and now just writing my thesis and trying to get back into adult life things like JOBS. All of that keeps me pretty busy, but I travel every second I get--mostly on breaks. Student budgets being what they are, I'm hoping to finally utilize the CS network!
EDIT: Call me Master Amber now, please. I have since moved after graduation, but I'll update my profile once I'm settled somewhere (traveling at the minute!).
PHILOSOPHY
I study philosophy, and because of that I'm not sure I really have one! In other words, I think it's dangerous to live like you have it all figured out, so I live to keep an open-mind and remember that it is better to change your philosophy every day then to let it stagnate. So, live it up and do it right.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I finally have a couch to offer, after a long time of being squished into tiny studios :) However, I am also always willing to meet up and enjoy quality time with travelers. Let's share stories, life experiences, or you know... beer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm still pretty new, but every day brings with it new experiences and stories, and I'm so glad to be a part of it!!
Interests
Well, movies, books, music, ice cream, staying up late and watching the sunrise, talking with friends, an ice-cold pint of beer, and walking with my toes in the grass.

Music, Movies, and Books
Too many!!!
Music--EVERYTHING, Indie to old school Punk Rock
Movies--Tarantino, Scorcese, Cohen bros., Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Guillermo del Toro, etc.
Books--David Foster Wallace (the literary god), Samuel Beckett, Herman Hesse, Nietzsche (but not stereotypically), Heidegger, Hannah Arendt, Nabokov, Bukowski, Borges, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing things in my life are the little moments, like snapshots, that have burned images in my head. Flying kites and falling over backwards into a pond, the sun shining, wine flowing, and everyone laughing. Or staying up all night smacking mosquitoes around a campfire dreaming about getting older. Or getting really pissed off at someone and throwing a meatball at their face and then having a real-life adult food fight and forgetting what we were fighting over. The moments I live for.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love meeting anyone and everyone as long as there's mutual respect. I also really like people who have crazy amazing stories about something I haven't and/or will probably never do. I.e. I once met someone who was a dark clown for a previous job. I'm still not sure I completely understand what that means.
