ABOUT ME

We enjoy meeting new people through travel and our home communit.
We live west of Toronto, Ontario. We enjoy being able to help people as they come to the area for a new adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe that treating others with kindness and respect is what makes the world go around. We also believe that opening this world up to sharing in each other's cultures and experiences will make this world a safer and friendlier place to live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have been able to stay with couch surfers in Moncton, and also have enjoyed hosting people at our own place from all over the world.

We are returning from a temporary couch surfing pause, due to a welcomed new addition to our family.

Interests

We take great interest in the lives of our family and friends. Scott is a hockey player and carpenter by trade. Amber is a nurse and enjoys catching up with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

We enjoy a variety of music and entertainment, but our favourite is when we find ourselves singing and jamming in our own living room :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming with sharks in South Korea,
Living with the families in a squatter community in Ecuador,
Cliff-side camping in the most Eastern point of Nova Scotia,
Letting the mountains take our breath away in British Columbia, and traveling through the Ice Fields Parkway of Alberta
Explored the Mayan ruins at Chinchen Itza, Mexico,
Scott has seen the view from Machu Picchu after a hiking the Inca trail,
Amber took in the famous Van Gough Museum in the Netherlands.
We also appreciate and love exploring our own beautiful country and have gone of many Canadian adventures.

Teach, Learn, Share

It is always great to connect with people who have travelled all over the world. Becoming aware and open to other people's cultures has been a wonderful experience for us.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We have a spare room with a double bed. You would have your own washroom and of course we would expect you to make yourself at home in the common rooms of our house. We provide clean linens and towels, and ask guests to provide and make their own food, mostly because our schedules can be somewhat busy.

We have a young boy, but he is a very good night time sleeper (usually sleeping from 7pm-6 or 7am) and so we would ask that the house be fairly quiet later in to the evenings.
