About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to drive up the coast from Savannah, Georgia to my home in Brooklyn with the windows down and my friend Erin at my side.

ABOUT ME

I'm an adventurous, gluttonous woman who loves playing boardgames, throwing dinner parties, reading books, sleeping in, driving, dancing and drinking cocktails.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will host and surf.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never formally surfed or hosted, but my futon gets a lot of action and I've shown my fair share of foreigners and Midwesterners around town. I've also stayed with friends, family and people who know my friends and family all over the world. The best "couchsurfing" I've ever done was with a Masai family in Kenya that a friend introduced me to. There was no couch, but the hospitality was out of this world.

Interests

Food, "The Wire", the sad state of public education, Spain, The New York Times' new paywall...

Music, Movies, and Books

I heart books! Off the top of my head I liked these: The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, Omnivore's Dilemma, Middlesex, Devil in the White City, Pride & Prejudice, Lolita

Pretty much any music goes, save for tacky Country Western stuff.

I haven't seen an incredible movie in a while, but I like thrillers, comedies, dramas and documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught middle school Spanish for 3 years in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Might not sound amazing, but that was the most rewarding/excruciating/heart-warming/painful thing I've ever done.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook and can show you how to make a meal that will wow a crowd. Lately I've been making lots of borscht, chocolate flourless cake and homemade manicotti.

I'm open to learning to play instruments or sew things out of scraps of material with no patterns.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Italy, Kenya, Madagascar, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Spain, United States
