ABOUT ME

i am an older sister and an only daughter. i am generally laid back although simultaneously quite fiery as well. i am a very curious person. i try to live in accordance with my values. i tend to be bold. i have a compassionate disposition. i survive on authentic conversation. and i might freak out if you confuse "your" and "you're".

PHILOSOPHY

it's not the easy or convenient life for which i search, but rather life lived to the edge of all my possibility. (from a piece of artwork that hangs beside my bed.)

-i find value in the struggle to be better, to grow, to know more, to help more... all the while having calm and peace at the core of me. does that make sense? there are so many things i want to do and be, yet i know that what i'm doing right now and what i am right now is most definitely good enough.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

so far i have only met up with people... i've not hosted or been hosted. i met and hung out with with numerous people in LA and when i've been traveling, sharing and receiving practical help (rides, directions, etc.) as well as engaging in lively conversation!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i'm pretty resourceful and relatively likeable, so i've had my share of random crashing experiences. my most recent was staying with a casual friend's parents in brooklyn, ny. fabulous!

兴趣

i'm interested in most things, but off the top...chocolate, films (esp foreign and indie), wine, apologetics, secondhand, grassroots, words, grocery shopping, social justice, hanging out by myself, language acquisition, public libraries.

i love to watch movies. some films i consider great, for varying reasons, would be y tu mama tambien, high fidelity, thirteen, sideways, fiddler on the roof, love actually, rent, manhattan, annie hall, once, maria full of grace, bridge to terabithia; for music i like world music..altcountry..indie,npr type of stuff..bluegrass/folk.. as for some specifics i love ryan adams, conor oberst, the shins, ani difranco, paul simon, james taylor, ben gibbard, alison krauss; i read a lot. i love harry potter and read lots of non-fiction and young adult fiction at this point in my life, although i do sneak in some bukowski, vonnegut, bell hooks, etc. here and there.
