About Me
ABOUT ME
"Never stop learning"
I want to meet new folks, learn new things and take more risks (like sometimes spending money I don't have to travel). In the little traveling I've done, I have enjoyed meeting new people, seeing new sights and returning with meaningful experiences. Food, getting lost and street performers have also made my travels quite great
What I do
I'm in a bit of transition, but I've recently finished an incredible program doing policy advocacy and community organizing. Social Justice is a driving force in my life. My heart is deeply committed to dismantling the current prison system and I hope to find opportunities in NY to do just that.
Oh yeah I'm moving to NYC
Amber in a nut shell
I'm a queer woman of color, who loves food, bantering, sleep, humor, soccer, and asking questions. I never, ever want to stop learning. New insight that challenge misconceptions is what I’m all about. I can be reserved but am always looking for opportunities to branch out more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first and only couch surfing experience (thus far) was beyond incredible! And I hope to have more amazing opportunities to meet more incredible people.

The Pacific Northwest, Sports, Music, Coffee, Learning, Goodwill and Podcasts
I love Seattle and all of it's quirky charm. It's an amazing place to call home, but am excited to see what the East Coast has to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music. I truly believe that music frees and heals the soul. I don't have a favorite movie but love documentaries. Hmm books, I'm a big fan of Brene Brown. If folks have any suggestions on Music, Movies or Books, I'm all ears.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got the great opportunity to travel to the 2012 London Olympics, on very little money. It's probably my biggest accomplishment =). While traveling I had a great unofficial couch surfing experience, which was amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach, learn, share is a great model to live by.
I learn a lot from narrative and enjoy hearing people's stories.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer great conversation and a nice laugh. I'm easily entertained (maybe a little too much). I generally hate cooking. However, love to cook when I'm with interesting people. I love to share and hear stories and am open to trying new things.
I also would love to stay in contact with the folks that I meet. I don't know how much that occurs, but I'd be very open to it.
