About Me

CURRENT MISSION

...to stay in one place long enough to love it, but not so long to forget how many more places there are to love...

ABOUT ME

I'm originally from San Diego, California but I went to university in Eugene, Oregon, USA. I taught in Korea for 1.5 years after graduating in 2003, then taught kids with disabilities in the US for six months before moving to Holland. I lived just outside of Amsterdam for a year and traveled around Europe a bit during that time. I moved back to Eugene to pursue my master's in Speech Pathology and graduated in June 2008. Although I love travelling, I finally decided to settle down here in Eugene. I now own a beautiful home with a big backyard, and I have a cute little dog named Duds. My brother and his fiancee and their beautiful son, my sister and her husband, my father, and my mother all live here in the same city; I'm very close to all of them. I am also a proud and dedicated member of the EMERALD CITY ROLLER GIRLS (www.myspace.com/emeraldcityrollergirls OR www.emeraldcityrollergirls.com). The ladies and officials of this league are practically my family. "I am extraordinary if you'd ever get to know me, I am just your ordinary average every day saint psycho..."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It was an amazing thing for me, as a humble beginning traveler, to even start my journeys at all. I've always wanted to, but was not given any opportunities growing up. But I graduated from college and went straight to a foreign country with no idea what I would experience, no concept of what to expect. Everything amazed me, from the toilets in the ground, to the grandest temples, to the kids that I taught--brilliant AMAZING children! My vacation in Cebu was pretty crazy too: I got in a car accident (wild taxi driving), held a Tarsier in it's home city of Loboc, and snorkeled for the first time ever. Does that count for this section?

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know if I have anything new to divulge. I did learn some rather obvious things about life from playing roller derby. Like, you will always fall, and you will always get back up. And, nothing worth having comes easily, you must fight for what you want.

Physically speaking, I can teach you how to skate, that's about my only talent. Or make one of my many specialties, I'm quite the novice chef :)
