About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To choose a city to fall in love with in the USA and move there!

ABOUT ME

Quite possibly the most easy-going person you'll ever meet. Not easily offended or embarrassed. I'm
"geographically challenged" meaning I have rarely lived in the same place for more than a few months at a time and technically, I'm homeless. Which is odd to say as I have a job I work very hard at. So hard in fact, that they give me two weeks off every month which I spend having one adventure after another.

My love of adventure started early. Imagine a boy who spent his free time reading about rainforests, crocodiles and ancient cities. Visiting the Grand Canyon and Giant Redwoods of Yosemite from the back of his parents' Buick. The first in his family to have a passport, and he felt like a secret agent when it arrived in the mail.
Now the boy is grown, the pages of that first passport are ink-stained, dog-eared, and stiff from foreign visas. He's stalked wildlife in the Amazon and Borneo, he's had crocodile eggs hatch in his hands and he's walked the streets of Rome. I am that boy!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches are the perfect stress relievers.

Straight up, I believe people are good. I believe there is more about us that connects us together than what makes us different. I'm an optimist and yet a realist as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really, REALLY want to host people. And someday I will, LOTS! And it will be wonderful. Until then, I'm here surfing, sharing experiences on group pages, connecting people to others and smiling a lot.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first hosting experience and surfing experience were on the same day on opposite sides of the world. I was at a CS gathering in Indonesia while I hooked a surfer up at my house with my parents in Wyoming. Since then I've surfed in Australia, Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, France, Ecuador, Colombia and the USA.

Interests

Dancing: bachta and salsa mostly.
Sailing: I'm buying a catamaran as soon as I have a place to park it!
Snakes: its an obsession you'll have to ask me about to understand.
Foreign Language: On the "to learn" list; Portuguese, French, Indonesian, Arabic
SCUBA diving: Who wouldn't want to breathe underwater? It's fascinating!
Photography: Can someone please teach me how to use my DSLR?
Cooking: it satisfies my need to create as well as my never-ending appetite.
Books: I read a lot. I killed my tv years ago.
Snow Sports: skiing and snowboarding have helped me get through many a depressing winter
Rock Climbing: I lean towards sport climbing in warm weather with great views and even better people. But I like to hit up the gym for a good boulering sesh every now and then.
Investing: because the goal is to get paid without going to work.
