Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Amelia. I'm an Australian student, living in Ireland mostly, about to come back from my Erasmus year in Berlin. I suppose the first thing you should know about me is that I love three things above everything else: travel, music, and eating. Therefore, I spend a lot of time bopping here and there, cooking, and playing tunes (by myself, and if they also play, with other people!)
I'm currently a student at University College Dublin, and just finished my Erasmus year at the Freie Universität in Berlin. Over the summer, my boyfriend Andrew and I (a native of Dublin himself!) will be travelling through the Baltics, from Tallinn all the way down to Riga and Vilnius, hoping to meet lots of new people! I love having adventures and making new friends from all over the world, so I hope this summer will be good for that!
I speak English (mother tongue), German (C1), and a little Spanish (B1/2ish). If you wanna help me learn a language, I'm always game!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people while seeing the world. It's no secret that staying with locals (or people who live there) gives you insight into a place, but it's also an experience in making new life long friends in different corners of the world. Cooking together, wandering together, enjoying life together! I hope to meet lots of you on my way around!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I love Regina Spektor, the National, Mitski, Joni Mitchell, and Arcade Fire (but I always love hearing different kinds of music.) I also really like jazz :)
Movies: I love the Hayao Miyazaki films, the Don Hertzfeldt movies and also Wes Anderson.
Books: It's be hard to pick a favourite, but right now I'm really into Raymond Carver and Kurt Vonnegut.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's kind of hard to pick a thing you've done and call it amazing, but I suppose one cool thing I did was coming to work on this llama farm in Bavaria. A couple years ago, a couple of friends and I just came out here for no particular reason and worked for a few weeks. We got to travel through beautiful rural Germany, and we had some weird and wonderful adventures on the way.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love cooking, German, piano, ukulele... so if you want to learn any of those, I'd love to help. Otherwise, let's go exploring together!
