Overview
About Me
I live in the Northern part of Paris, a popular and cosmopolitan district called La Chapelle that I adore and would be happy to introduce you to if ever you visit. I lived abroad for many years but I now realize that wherever I'll go, I'll always be a Parisian at heart. I am a teacher at university level and doing research on South Asia.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think that hospitality (for foreigners and travelers) is a core value which is sadly slowly disappearing. I also love the fact that people help each other for free, without expecting anything in return. My 25 year-old godson introduced me to this site and I love the idea.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love to read, scientific books but also novels (especially 19th century) and poetry. I am now into Proust's Recherche du temps perdu, and it's quite a trip (Proust is much funnier than what people think).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I dont know what other people would consider to be "amazing"! Taking a bath in a 15th century Japanese rotenburo when a monkey just showed up out of the blue remains one my most beautiful memory of traveling.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching is my profession and I learn from what other colleagues write and... from my students quite often as well :) I take dance classes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My love of Paris! Good addresses of non-turistic places. A sense of hospitality and any help they might need. I am working quite a lot though so I may not be as available as I wished to be.
Countries I’ve Visited
