Hello, person who's reading my profile ! So this is me, Amélie, I'm a 24 yo French girl who's not particularly good at talking about herself... (this presentation thing-y is haaaard for me ! 😂) Here goes nothing: I live in France, in the North, and it's where I go to university. I have the french equivalent to a bachelor in English (except I did 3 years) and I studied literature, civilization, grammar, phonetics and aaaaall kinds of other funny stuff like that... (jk, phonetics and grammar are pure torture!) But, now that my bachelor was completed, I didn't feel ready yet for my master.. So instead, I decided to travel a bit on my own, to discover the world and try to live life to the fullest ! I gave myself a year to explore the world and find myself again and have this crazy adventure...So now, I only hope that you'll be willing to be part of my big adventure too ! 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

WHY CS FOR ME? Because I am curious about other people and other cultures and I think that CS is an awesome way to meet new people! Also, it feels more safe to use a recognized and verified platform. And I'm not gonna lie, the fact that it is free. For someone in my situation (young, not broke but almost!), wanting to travel the world can quickly come to a disappointing end. So I truly think that it is amazing that people are willing to take in «strangers» to help them discover their lifestyle, their cities, their cultures !

Interests

I am a very curious person, always trying to learn new things. I am curious about the world and how it works, about the people and their culture, about how their culture and mine differ while still being the same, about the most random stuff... Like, did you know that the eggshell consists of about 12% of the total weight of an egg? I do ! My brain is weird and likes to retain all sorts of little random facts like that... Totally useless in everyday life, but if that ever comes up in a life or death situation, I'm alive and now -thanks to me- so are you ! You're welcoooome 😉

Music, Movies, and Books

ALL OF THE ABOVE ! I listen to all kinds of music (serioulsy, my playlist is a biiiig mess! Jumping from pop to indie rock to electro-chill to jazz and many more !) And it is rare to find me without any kind of music playing.... And of course, adding to that, there are also podcasts I frequently listen to ! (My ears rarely get a break, 😅)

I'm also an avide reader and I read all kinds of books but mainly sci-fi! I never not have a book with me and if I don't, you can be certain that I have several e-books ready to be read on my phone!

And as for the movies, let's just say that for a certain period of my life I practically lived in a movie theater due to the fact that I went there almost every day! ... And let's not even get me started on tv-shows... Boy, oh boy! My list of things to watch seems to be endless and I'm always adding new stuff to it.... woopsie !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I camped by the Loch Ness in Scotland, in a tiny, damp, fine tent. I visited the castle of Vlad the Impaler (aka, Count Dracula!). And many more things but my favorite memory is this newt one...
I slept on a beach on a tiny island in Greece during the night of the falling stars when I was younger. I had the Milky Way all for myself that night. It's a memory I cherish and I will never forget it!

TEACH -> French culture (language, food, style, life, attitude, philosophy...). I'm no expert on any of these subjects, but if you are curious, I can definitely answer your questions !
LEARN -> anything. Seriously, teach me anything because I crave knowlegde on any kid of topic !
SHARE -> my weirdness. Because what's the point of being «normal»? Being weird, being me is so much more fun. Plus, I have a very dry, sarcastic, witty sense of humor, (but never mean!) so you're in for a treat with me arround !
