Hi everyone !

My name is Amélie, I'm 27 and I am currently living and working in Swedish Lapland for winter season.
I have many passions and hobbies, of which the most important are music (and singing - watch out when I'm in the shower lol 😉), scuba diving, hiking, backpacking and overall experiencing new things & meeting new people.

I had the chance to go on two Erasmuses when I was a student, and to live in the two beautiful countries that are Italy and Hungary. In 2021, I went on my first solo trip through Europe with an interrail ticket, and after some short trips here and there, I ended up quitting my job at the end of 2024 to go on a 10 months backpacking adventure in South Asia. I came back home in last September and, after a quick stop volunteering in Tenerife for a month in November, I decided to experience the great north and moved to northern Sweden to work in hospitality.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to meet new people and create connections with locals while I am travelling, since I think that, no matter what landscapes and treasures a place can offer, the greatest wealth remains the human connections and the exchange that you have with people. (Sounds reallyyyy cheesy but I do mean it ahah)
I learnt from my past trips loads of things from the nicest people and I just want to keep being open to meeting people from different countries, cultures, backgrounds, with differents lives, hopes and dreams, with whom I hope I can share connections.

*Hiking the Indonesian volcano that hosts the most acidic lake in the world 🌋
*Living a winter in Lapland (where usual temperature is about -25C) ❄️
*Coming across wild elephants on the road, while driving my own Tuktuk around Sri Lanka 🐘🛺
*Paragliding in Tenerife 🌬️
*Celebrating Holi in India 🫟
* Walking through Angkor Wat temples in Cambodia 🛕
*Diving with Manta Rays and bioluminescent Plankton in Indonesia 🤿
