About Me

I am Amélie from Paris and I am 30. I love to discover new cultures and languages, to hang out, to dance and listen to music... and also cooking (especially cookies) !
I have been on the road since March 2019. After Middle East and Asia, next destination is now South America :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To discover new cultures and meet new people.

Interests

Dancing (rock, salsa, bachata, tango, modern-jazz...), playing the tennis, swimming, learning new foreign languages (now : Portuguese!), exploring new cities, taking pictures, meeting new people and ... travelling :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : Soul, Electro, Pop, Rock, Salsa, ... I particularly love Buena Vista Social Club and Cesaria Evora.
Movies : Fight Club, Volver, If Beale Street could Speak, The Green Book, Mullholland Drive...
Writers : I like reading Paulo Coehlo, Gabriel Garcia Marquez (but I did not manage to read it entirely in Spanish!) and recently discovered Kazuo Ishiguro which I really appreciated.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Explore the quiet ocean life and the rainbow-colored corals while diving in Malaysia.
Hike on a 7-day trek in the Annapurnas Mountains in Nepal up to 5400m (hard to breathe !).
Do a yoga retreat in Rishikesh in India (so relaxing).
Have a bath in the hot springs in Kyushu in Japan (almost 50 degrees!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some words in French and how to cook the French "quiche lorraine".
I love to learn new words in foreign languages as well, and discover new food so I am ready to share some experience with my future hosts :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking, hanging out, listening to music ... talking very simply !
