About Me
*inactive as of Oct 22'
I'm Amelin, from Malaysia, 26 years old (not 30 as stated on my profile), and I enjoy tropical places like the beach and jungles. I am an ambivert, I like to go out and meet people with good vibes but I would also like to re-charge by relaxing and having a long conversation with a friend.
My travel style is to go visit a few top sights that spark my attraction, parks, beaches, beautiful architecture cultural experiences (dances, theatre, opera etc) and eat delicious food and enjoy nightlife (please read my nightlife section below in case you are worried im a party animal - not!).
By August, I would finish a six month contract at an intense start up and I want to see what the world has to offer. If I had messaged you, its probably because I think we will get well along. Adapting into new places and environments is something I do well, however dropping my daily routine (such as gym and eating healthy) is not very easy for me. So it would be nice if my hosts understand that I feel guilty after eating junk food and like to go outdoors and be active.
I love children and all animals too, will be very okay with your pets.
**As for nightlife and partying - I can appreciate a wide variety. I am happy to go to a salsa bar, jazz club, local dive bar, a groovy deep house/techno club with all the cool kids and if you can show me something new, I'd be happy to try it out.
Because I prefer staying with families and couples (and also enthusiastic millenials), I don't mind coming home by 11PM so as to not disturb the host and I can wake up fresh the next day and continue exploring. I would like to experience being out dancing until 3am in the morning, but I think this would be kept to a max of 2-3 times during my Spain travels (let me know if this is something you'd like to do!). I'm very respectful of my hosts and their homes and being a decent, polite person. Also when I have drank more than 4 drinks, my extroverted side comes out and I'll feel very shy about it the next day haha!
If you are ready to offer a space in your warm homes to me, I would be very grateful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I feel like its the best way to get to know people and the places I am visiting, which is a wonderful way to make lifelong friends and memories to share when I'm older.
I'm certainly not using it as a dating site though... Felt like I had to say that.

Music, Movies, and Books
As an artsy person with a wide range of interests, I like so much its hard to even list it down so I'm not going to bother.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I participated in turtle conservation for three months last year and worked day and night collecting turtle eggs making sure poachers dont come steal them! I released baby turtles almost everyday into the sea.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help with your English and vocal lessons and making a really nice pot of chai tea!
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you are still reading, I thank you for your interest!
I have noticed there are two types of couch surfing hosts.
1) The hands-off host: These hosts would like to offer a place to stay but would rather you explore on your own because they are busy with work/schedules but would like to hang out a couple times to get to know you.
2) The involved enthusiastic host: Lunch! Dinner! Breakfast! Tours! This type of host wants to spend plenty of time and take you around and show you their most interesting places.
I'm happy to say that I like both types of hosts!
I can share with hosts a souvenir from my home country, I'll make some authentic chai tea for you and I can share some of the ridiculous stories I have collected over the years. You'll laugh your ass off and feel a bit sorry for me but as long as it makes you laugh I'll be happy!
