About Me

Please read my home section before requesting for a stay 😎

Hey I am Amel from France, I love travelling and meeting travelers.
I am an easy going and smiling person, I am often keen to meet new people or start new projects but also love to just chill at some point 😇

This 10 last years, I was very lucky to have the opportunity to slow travel a lot ( especially in Asia).
With Working Visa Holiday , I got the chance to discover Australia and New Zealand and I became an addict of the website Workaway which is great to experiment the local life in so many different ways !

Now its eventually time to set up for a bit, I choose Calais for not obvious reason haha

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Enjoy meeting different people from all over the world and connect with locals to discover the culture of the country.

So many nice person open the door for me when I was abroad I went to give back :)
I am quite busy this time so I dont know if I will be able to have some time but if you need a place to crash just ask me !

Interests

Recently I discover Kobido (old japonese face massage), I had a crush on it so I learn it that summer and now my goal is to be able to live mainly from that.

love to cook (I would love cooking for my future host or guest ^^) , make party with friends, spend some days alone into the wild, stand up comedy , give some time to help people who need.

I am very attract to a lifestyle where I could be self sufficient as much as possible, on the permaculture principle which is respect of the nature, animals and human.
So, have a big garden and many trees, have a simple house like a yurt and built a kerterre by myself, reduce my needs in energy and be able to produce all I need by solar or wind.

So I pay attention the food I eat, try to eat local, seasonal and organic, mostly vegetarian.
I have interest for fasting which is a great tool to maintain a good health, clean your body and even possible to help to recover from some dicease. There is a reason why its mentionned in all religion.

I am also interested about all ancient medicinal knowledges especially chinese traditionnal medicine and ayurveda (from India, one of the world oldest healing system). Because I think especially in western cultures, we lost so many important knowledges about natural way of staying healthy. We need to go back to this precious roots.

Big fan of second hand shop especially for clothes and book. I try not to buy new clothes there are so many already existing and I watched documentary about the industry of clothe its scaring ...
In general I could say I worked on to increase a minimalist spirit which is the right spirit to have when you are a backpacker !

Recently went out of my confort zone with icebath great experience!

Learning a bit thai massage, not easy but love it!

France to Greece by hitchiking, a great adventure !

Travel 1 year by myself in central Asia, China and southest Asia on local way, without taking plane (for low ecological impact) just local transportation and hitchiking.
In central Asia (Khirgizstan, Tadjikistan and Khazakstan) I was wild camping, amazing landscape!

Discover New Zealand during 8 months (expensive country to visit) by doing almost only workaway and hitchhiking so if you wish tips to travel at low cost hit me ;)
