About Me
ABOUT ME
To prevent you from getting scared what a weird person you have contacted/has contacted you, here comes my warning: my favourite style of travelling is hiking and backpacking, and I have several great passions: dogs, historical reenactment (celts) and sci-fi + fantasy. I also really fancy climbing and playing various musical instruments. And I am a geologist, which is not just an information about education, but also a diagnosis (heart of rock, liver of stone).
And another of my passions is - of course - travelling. Got even more excited about it when on Erasmus in Cardiff.
PHILOSOPHY
"Only dead fish swim with the stream." (I don't know who said that.)
"The gods only go with you if you throw yourself in their path." (Mary Stewart)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If I have a flat, I am able to host in addition to just meeting people. One thing that is important - at least for me - about CS, is that people usually don't travel to stay with me to be honoured by my company. They travel to see things and if they don't have to spare too much from they budget on accommodation, they can see more. That is why I surf and probably why most people surf. Of course it is even better if you stay with people of the same hobbies and characters. But I am here especially to help those who arrive to a new country, do not know the language, have nowhere to sleep and are going to be on the way next morning. Because these were the situations when I would have most gladly accepted a coach invitation. I know what a pleasure it is to sleep in a comfy quiet room, have a shower, go to a real toilet and eat from a plate after long days on the way...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travels. Erasmus. Puppies.
(Did you say "one"?)
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy learning other languages and the more exotic and "useless" in the worldwide meaning, the better (I've learned tiny bit of Welsh and Irish Gaelic and I want to continue, also interested in Icelandic, Finish, Japanese...) and I'm quite keen to teach others some Czech.
And I also enjoy learning playing various musical instruments. I am already a life-long beginner at playing Irish whistles, the bodhran and violin and I have tried playing some exciting instruments such as harp, shawm and digeridoo. If you have some unusual musical instruments, be sure I'm keen to try playing them!
