Music, Movies, and Books
Emergent Strategy by adrienne maree brown is my new all-time favorite book! With a 4-yr-old son, I don't have tons of time for fun reading but the other day I managed to read a beautiful graphic novel memoir, The Best We Could Do by Thi Bui, that was amazing. I used to read a fair amount, and will again someday: The Color Purple by Alice Walker, The Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler, The Brothers K by David James Duncan ....
I love music, and love a good kitchen dance party. I play around a bit on piano, and can listen to classics: Debussy, Chopin, Ravel. I love Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae, Lulacruza. Just saw Thunderbirds Raised Her and was super impressed. I can also shed some tears to Krishna Das. My son listens non-stop to Kraftwerk and Daft Punk...and I guess I'm the parent that allows him to put it on first thing in the morning, so that says something!
For movies, I have a pretty low tolerance for violent or disturbing imagery. My most recent favorite was Hidden Figures, although I also love foreign films: Microbe & Gasoline, L'Haine (yes, I know its violent), L'Eclisse…. Again, due to the little one I haven't kept up on my movies but I used to chill out and do crafts to pretty much any Criterion Collection movie any chance I got.

I can teach basic bookkeeping including QuickBooks, sewing, knitting, quilting. I can play a little piano, and know a little about herbal medicine. I am trying to learn Spanish and very interested in learning sign language.
What I Can Share with Hosts
