About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find the most beautiful place on this planet.
ABOUT ME
I'm an easy going person that likes to try new things over something that I know already. I guess having a thing for the unknown, is also why I love my studies of Oceanography so much (yes, I believe if everybody dedicated a few years of their lives to study the oceans, the world would be a happier place...). I am a bit of a restless soul too, and in the previous 6 years I have lived in 4 countries on 3 different continents whilst having visited some many more inbetween - I am inspired by stories of other people, the way they understand life on this planet, and the way they look at others. So tell me a good story about life, this planet and/or travelling and we are very likely to get on great.
On the other hand, I'm not much of a loud & crazy person - I enjoy a good conversation and a bottle of wine over a night in a night club and if you ask me to sing karaoke i front of many people I am most likely to give you an akward grin and say no.
PHILOSOPHY
A ship in the harbor is safe - but that's not what ships are built for.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been hosting quite a few more travellers than I have been surfing since I joined couchsurfing, and I always loved inviting a tiny bit of the world into my living room.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Since I still live in shared flats, my hosting activity depends very much on my current room mates, so as of lately I haven't been able to host many surfers unfortunately. I have surfed also a couple of times, and always love the connections I make when I'm involved in any aspect of couch surfing.
Interests
I like the Earth in all of its aspects, hence I like travelling, geology and science in general but also learning about different cultures and ways of thinking. I love being outdoors - sailing, camping, hiking, climbing and running. (all of this in moderation but with great enthusiasm :) When I'm not admiring the landscape of this planet I study Oceanography hoping that it will give me an opportunity to visit Antarctica in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite movies in the world are garden state, and into the wild, but I do enjoy indie movies in general and am always up for a good disaster movie too.
As for books, I love everything by David Mitchell, and my favorite book is Cloud Atlas.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen a fair bit of this world, but my favorite place is a small town in the middle of nowhere, Tennessee. spending a day in the smoky mountains makes me happy.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can talk for a long time about climate change, the history of ocean circulation, and my ideas about what travelling does to you.
I also recently learned that I'm quite a determined 'lets-empty-the-fridge-chef' so I guess I can also share my secrets about how to make a decent meal with nothing and some garlic.
