About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Dance my Life and Live my Dance.
ABOUT ME
My father told me that I had the soul of a poet with none of the talent. I think like a scientist and see like a dreamer. I believe in magic and the strength of the human will. I will point out the shooting stars and never ask what you wished for. I love Disney and dancing, joy and laughter. My conversations tend toward examinations of sociology, science, and abstractions ad absurdum. My tone is more often than not mock-serious. So if you're looking for pleasantries, I'm afraid I'm probably the wrong person to be talking to.
PHILOSOPHY
Embrace change, and always stay curious.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love stories: from them, we learn new perspectives and expand our viewpoints. I enjoy imparting some of my own experiences to people who want to learn. Practically speaking, travel is expensive and helping to ease that expense to allow others to broaden their horizons is something that I admire.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was hosted by Daniel Reiter in Luxembourg and had a wonderful time. Great first CS experience!
I hosted my first guest, Amy Bolich, in Cambridge, MA, and it was a joy. I've since had lobbyists, a filmmaker, students, consultants, and so many others on my couch in Cambridge, and it has enriched my life.
Since these firsts, I've traveled through 50+ countries, often with the comfort of finding a Couchsurfer who will want to meet up, grab a drink, show me their neighborhood. I've laughed, cried, and shared so much with this community. It will always be an indelible part of my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived. And because I suck at these questions, the following:
Almost drowned in the Great Barrier Reef
Three Gorges before it was dammed
Giant fireballs across the sky during Leonids 2004 on Mt. Wilson
Heard/saw the tanks in Tian An Men Square in 1989
Huang Shan: mountains painted by a god's brush
The blue of Lake Baikal
First backpacking experience was 6 days through the Sierras, up and down Mt. Whitney on the last day - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Milky way reflected in the Amazon with red lightning on the jungle horizon
Everest Base Camp honeymoon
Teach, Learn, Share
Every country has their own form of brainwashing - the goal is to try to see things outside of your local geography. Do more than travel - try living across the world.
I can teach any number of dances to people who are interested: west coast swing, east coast swing, waltz, foxtrot, quickstep, Viennese waltz, international tango, rumba, cha-cha, jive. I love dance, and I want to help people learn the joy of dancing as well.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Dance! Beverage of choice. Good food. Random conversation.
