About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Loving Life with a contagious glow!

ABOUT ME

Am exploring how to live a radically free, authentic, and full life. I enjoy unexpected adventures, and pondering the nature and purpose of why we exist.

PHILOSOPHY

Coincidences and happy accidents are God's way of winking at me, I'm sure of it LOL. I've met the most awesome people and had the most extraordinary experiences at the most unexpected times of my life. The mystery of life compels me deeper and further than the average bear.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love it! Short trips or long ones, it's the best way to meet people, share a meal, find a new adventure. Adds a layer of spontaneous excellence to adventure travel that doesn't exist in airbnb's or even campgrounds.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch surfer since 2007. More off the app than through it tho, honestly. I hosted folks when I lived in the SF bay Area as often as I could and travelled a LOT around the US and Europe couchsurfing.

Just finished a one year pilgrimage around the states in a DIY mini-micro-camper-van. Full of good stories of surprise and adventure.

Interests

I did my undergrad in San Francisco in Political Science, and MBA focused on Conflict Resolution and Executive Coaching.

I am super interested in biking (mostly on-road), off-roading and backpacking, canoeing, socially- and environmentally-responsible living, building and creating, self-improvement, and learning new things. Every person I've ever met knows something I'd like to learn about, as long as they're willing to teach me.

I heartily dig a good conversation with sincere people who are interested in the finer things in life, like the process of human transformation and evolution, meaning of existence, religion/philosophy, some light-hearted history, making and consuming art & music, and all things that inspire the human person to desire Beauty with a capital B.

Life is too short to not cherish all its nooks and crannies and the people we meet along the journey!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books!
The Little Prince, Einsteins Dreams,
The Religious Sense by Luigi Guisanni
Created for the Infinite,
Interior Freedom by Jaques Phillipe,
Interior Castle by Theresa of Avila
Dark Night of the Soul by St John of the Cross
everything by Rainer Maria Rilke,
The Fulfillment of All Desire,
TS Eliot, Yeats, Keats, Barret Browning, and all unreasonable poets,
Confessions by St Augustine, Les Miserables by Victor Hugo,
etc etc etc ... and not in that order

And actually, tonight I feel inclined to making a music list too, not comprehensive:

leonard cohen, devendra barnhart, hosier, mumford, bjork, cocorosie, innocence mission, jose gonzales, primus, townes van zandt, sufjan stevens, Hildegarde von binghen, johny cash, paulo conte, modest mouse, supertramp, neil diamond, bollywood, deep dub, round the world trancey stuff, mongolian pop, catholic rap.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Was locked "by accident" in Barcelona's amazing Sagrada Familia after closing. Showed up at Graceland by "accident" on Elvis's birthday. Climbed the great wall of China and fought with Mongolian warriors at the top. Fed homeless crack addicts at 3 am in Oakland CA who affected my life in ways I couldn't have imagined.

I have been extraordinarily blessed and as a result I live in awe, wonder, and gratitude.

Teach, Learn, Share

I come as a beggar to know you, to know life, to let go of attachments and discover what's new and beyond. That is what I have to teach, to learn, and to share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Bad jokes! I am enthusiastic about a lot of things, but also remarkably laid-back and love to just hang out and talk about life. I can offer interesting, intelligent conversation. I'm pretty handy and a good listener. I can try to help out if you need something fixed. I can swing dance. I can proofread. I can explain how muscles work. I can help you fold your laundry. I can stand in for your life coach and help you get motivated. I can hold your dog still while you clip his toenails. I can be a hiking/biking/laughing buddy. I can make scrambled eggs for breakfast. I'm always happy to share a coffee or a drink with someone.
