ABOUT ME

I haven't always been a traveller. It took one trip and I was hooked.
Here's what happened: I took a year off after high school, and had an idea about volunteering in India, Africa or Asia. Somehow that's what seemed logical as a next step, but it was a French brunette that I met in Toronto that took me and my heart to Europe for six months.

With a 1000$ in pocket and a return ticket to Canada, I knew that I would be up for a challenge. That trip took me from France, to Ireland through Scotland, Italy and back to France where I bartended for a bit. Before I knew it, I was on a plane to Sweden and Denmark!

I'm very laid back and my only expectation through travelling is to see something new, different and gain a new perspective.

Recently, my travels have been a little more discreet, although I was able to travel to Peru for work a little while ago. Right now, I'm taking advantage of my university town's proximity to the US border, and the beautiful cities that the States has to offer!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed once when I was in Sweden a few years back. I really didn't know what to expect, but all in all, I had a blast being able to meet someone new, learn about his experience living in Stockholm.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only one so far, and it was positive. I really am looking forward to gaining some more CS experiences in the near future.

Interessi

Swimming, general outdoors activities, meeting new people and trying new foods! Cooking, kayaking and spontaneous hikes.

Life (and every situation therein) is truly what you make of it.
A really great prof shared this bit with me about a month ago:

If you are bored, then you are boring.

Meaning, any circumstance can be boring, trying or just plain trivial. But the fact of the matter is that you are there in the moment, and you have the particular ability to make that a fun moment.

As a result, I try my best to turn every situation into one that is enjoyable, or at the very least, a learning opportunity.

And if you've been wanting to learn a bit of French, I'm fluent and pretty patient so I could share some phrases if you're interested!
